Cookie Policy
Effective January 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how UIDMG LLC uses cookies and similar technologies on uidmg.com (the "Site"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. Under the EU/UK ePrivacy rules, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and comparable laws, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixel tags, and session identifiers. Cookies allow a site to recognize a device and remember choices you have made. Cookies may be "first-party" (set by us) or "third-party" (set by our service providers).
2. Categories We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Site security, session management, load balancing, CSRF protection, authentication. Cannot be disabled. | session cookie, auth token, consent record | Session – 12 months |
| Functional | Remembers preferences: sound toggle, region, previously entered form data. | uidmg_hover_sound, uidmg_visitor_id_v1 | Up to 12 months |

3. Your Choices
When you first visit the Site, we show a cookie banner offering three options: Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Customize. Strictly Necessary cookies are always active. You may change your choice at any time by clearing the uidmg_cookie_consent_v1 value in your browser's storage, which will trigger the banner again on your next visit, or by emailing privacy@uidmg.com.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking Strictly Necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site to malfunction.
4. Do Not Track
We currently do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because no common industry standard has been finalized. Where you set the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology or applicable law. Please check this page periodically.
